The original holds a special place in my (horrorloving)-heart because it functions as the example for the horror-comic-series Crossed."

OZ - TV Series Review

 ***SPOILER ALERT***
"Over the years I heard so many good things (Reviews etc) about OZ and I got curious in the past weeks. So I started the series.
And DAMN IS IT GOOD! I mean the acting, the scenery, the cast, the authenticity everything is on the highest possible level.
There are so many well developed characters like:

• Tobias Beecher who get raped and "enslaved" by Vern Schillinger (Leader of the Aryan Brotherhood in OZ), you see a change in Beecher from a poor fearridden fallen lawyer with no Streetskill to a coldblooded high respected Inmate.
• Chris Keller who joins in the mid of the Second Season, he falls in love Beecher but he must obey his Leader of the Aryan Brotherhood, so he always tries to get Beechers love back after assaulting him. Also he is played by one of my favourite Series Actors ever Christopher Meloni
• Augustus Hill, he is the narrator who appear in very surreal "episodes" and is one of the Tier1 cast, he got handicapped on his arrest.
• Tim McManus the leader of the Emerald City he always struggles between his ideals for the prisoners.
• Sister Peter-Marie she is the psychiatrist in OZ she became a nun after her husband got killed. 

You get really attached to the persons in Em City. And you pick your faction in the ongoing war in Em City.

Also you see how OZ infulences the way modern Series got made, that reveals the many culture references got made to OZ.

So if you never saw OZ before do it!
DO IT!"
